Southwest Greens Flagstaff, together with parent company Shaw Industries, announces the implementation of a patented HydroChill™ pre-coated infill. The new pre-coated product builds upon the success of HydroChill™ Home, an innovative cooling system started in October 2013. Designed to protect against the heat on artificial turf and landscape surfaces, HydroChill is the first heat reduction innovation of its kind and one of the only solutions on the market to lead to significant and sustained temperature differences.

Although results will result based on geographic location and local weather such as cloud cover, humidity and wind fluctuations, HydroChill Home has accomplished 30°F to 50°F lower surface temperatures compared to a basic artificial lawn surface when evaluated by an infrared thermometer. The technology is applied to a synthetic lawn and, when covered by water, pulls heat from the turf system leaving a cooler, more comfortable surface. The cooling impact of HydroChill Home after rainy weather or watering can persist for days depending on local conditions and is most dramatic when surface temperatures are hottest. HydroChill is most effective when the sun is closest to the earth’s surface leading to temperature differences of 50 degrees in real world, third party validated outdoor tests.
