Why artificial grass is better than natural grass for roofs.
Rooftop Greenery
Green roofs are making an impact in cities all over the world. Green rooftops provide shade, remove heat from the air, and reduce the roof surface and the air temperatures surrounding it. These types of rooftops are a great way to expand square footage and improve mental health by adding a green outdoor retreat in the concrete jungle. By choosing synthetic, you can open up the opportunities for creating a creative space in an otherwise drab location.
Perks of Artificial Turf Rooftops
There are several advantages to installing artificial turf on a rooftop. Here are some of our favorite reasons:
Easy to Clean
Artificial grass is exceptionally easy to keep clean and maintained.
Low Weight
When compared to organic grass, it poses no safety risks or hazards, such as root and water damage.
Offers Insulation
Protects building interiors from extreme heat and may provide resistance to mold, mildew, or decomposition.
Reduced Maintenance
Artificial grass will last for a very long time and requires minimal maintenance if installed properly.
Adds Value
Creates a quick getaway while remaining in the concrete jungle.
Safe Space for Kids & Pets
With synthetic turf, your pets and children won’t be susceptible to harmful pesticides, weedkillers, and fertilizers.
Create A One-Of-A-Kind Look
Artificial turf makes it convenient to put turf where traditional grass wouldn’t grow, and you can produce unusual figures, or even put them on walls if you want to.
Which Fiber Type Should You Use?
There is a lot to think about when selecting synthetic grass, not to mention what would be perfect for a rooftop. Here are a few critical aspects to keep in mind when shopping:
Nylon is a long-lasting fabric, but outdoor spaces are susceptible to expansion/contraction and will probably fade.
We recommend nylon for indoor use or situations with high commercial traffic or non-fill areas. All nylon non-infill Shaw products follow thorough flammability testing to comply with building codes.
We recommend using an infill PE tape product on a business rooftop.
PE tape provides durability without compromising performance; high grade PE resins are resistant to fading and not vulnerable to expansion and contraction. Our Play-Safe collection offers superior performance for this application.
